Through our work in schools, churches and in the community, HIYFC  seek to help young people reach their full potential, raising self esteem to become happy, healthy, well rounded individuals who are good citizens with secure identities. Growing confidence is a step towards being able to make healthy choices in all areas of their lives.

HIYFC is the Highlands and Islands centre of the Youth for Christ movement founded by the evangelist Billy Graham and brought to the UK in 1946. Ours is a caring ministry based on our belief that God cares about young people and wants them to know that they are loved and precious. We are able to demonstrate this concern by drawing alongside young people, in their context, and building relationships with them.

We work with all young people of whatever faith or none, and from all backgrounds.

  • BFG 2 is here! +

    Last year we hosted a BFG (Big Friends Gathering) event which allowed supporters to come together to hear about some of our work and our hopes for the future.   This year our BFG2 event is going to take place on Tuesday 20th March at Dalneigh & Bona Church of Scotland.  This event is going to be a CELEBRATION of all that God has been doing over the past year, but also an opportunity for us to share more about upcoming changes!   Read More
  • Praying for Inverness High School +

    As you will be aware, our Project Development Worker Linda works some of her hours in Inverness High School doing 1-2-1 work with pupils. We have decided that it would be beneficial to set up a 'Remote Prayer Hub', so that we can have a group of commited supporters praying for the pupils and staff of Inverness High School, and also the work that Linda does there.   Read More
  • The Sense & Stance Nairn Concert +

    At the end of their week in Nairn Academy the Touring Teams will be hosting a concert to bring their week to an end with a BANG!  The concert is an important part of the week and we would love to see as many folks there as possible!  This is an ideal opportunity to get a taste for what the team does in schools, but also an opportunity to take non-Christian friends along to hear the Good News of Jesus in a great way.
